1. FIRST-WEEK CHECKLIST
Day 1: Confirm role, scope, region, time zone, software access and named reviewer. Record drawing/specification revisions and document permissions.
Day 2: Read structural plans, footing schedules, sections, geotechnical references and concrete specifications. Write a scope map and questions log before measuring.
Day 3: Split footings, walls, slabs, pads and other elements. State dimensions and units, show volume calculations and keep formwork, reinforcing and finishing as separate work packages.
Day 4: Add quoted or approved pricing, source dates, labour basis, assumptions and exclusions. Review Identify whether pumping, testing, embeds, vapour barriers, base preparation, joints, winter protection and excavation are included or assigned elsewhere. Do not infer design dimensions from an ambiguous detail.
Day 5: Check plan dimensions against sections, confirm unit conversions, flag double-counted intersections and reconcile concrete totals by element.

2. SAMPLE ASSIGNMENT
A footing and stem-wall layout with a slab thickening and one revised footing size. Use a training set or authorised redacted drawings. Submit marked plans, a quantity workbook, assumptions, exclusions, RFIs and a revision summary. No invented rates or client claims.
